Pilates

Pilates encourages the use of the mind to control the muscles. Our Pilates programme focuses on the core postural muscles that help keep the body balanced and are essential to providing support for the spine. The classes are taught by a chartered physiotherapist. In particular, Pilates exercises teach awareness of breathing and alignment of the spine. They strengthen the deep torso muscles, which are important to help alleviate and prevent back pain. Although it focuses mainly on the muscles around the pelvic and abdominal area, all areas of the body are given attention.

The Classes

All classes are mixed ability and include male and female participants.

Before joining a class participants can have a one to one assessment which identifies any particular problems which need to be addressed or precautions to be taken and familiarises participants with the basic principles of Pilates.

All equipment is provided. Programmes consist of 6 weeks of classes and cost €60.

Below are a few details about the class.
Each block of classes runs for 6 weeks at a cost of €60, to be paid on the first night of block.
The duration of each class is 50 minutes.
Please bring your own pilates mat (No mats supplied).
Please bring a towel and water.
All participants are asked to complete a Pilates Consent Form.
